In January, 2024, we replaced the rollers on the shower doors in the Ricklin’s primary bathroom. In late November, 2025 they asked us to look at the rollers because they were not working properly. We discovered extensive rust and corrosion - a far greater level than normal for rollers that have been in use for less than 2 years. We also found rust and corrosion inside the J tracks of the shower enclosure. We ordered replacement rollers, which we installed on December 13, 2025. We recommend that the rail supporting the shower doors also be replaced. The enclosure appears to be of custom design and it may not be possible to replace the rail without replacing the entire enclosure.
The following photos and video document the conditions we found on December 13, 2025.
This amount of rust and corrosion is not typical for rollers that have been in service for less than 2 years.
This video shows what appears to be ash that had collected in the open channel of the frame encasing the glass panel.
This video shows the rust coming off on a paper towel saturated with WD 40 run along the J track of the shower enclosure.
