The following items are for your review so we can make sure you will like what we purchase for your home. If you don’t love any of the choices in any of the categories, let us know and we can pull other options for you. Action items are noted in bold.
Door Knobs / Deadbolts / hinges
Proposed for Front Door:
Kwikset Juno is the closest design to what you have on your front door now and costs $ 46.43 including sales tax for the thumbscrew knob and deadbolt set. The version shown here is antique brass, which should be close to what you have now. It also comes in polished brass, satin nickel, and venetian bronze.
The Deltana Traditional Door Knocker with Viewer comes the closest to what you have now. It costs $50.29 with tax and shipping. Your existing door knocker still looks nice, though, so if you plan to stick with antique brass, you could keep your current knocker instead of buying a new one.
Proposed for Back Door:
The Kwikset Tylo door knob is the closest design to what you have now and costs $27.53 for the thumbscrew knob with a deadbolt set. The version showed here is in Satin Chrome. which has a coolish cast.
The Kwikset Tylo also comes in Satin Nickel (shown above), which has a warm cast. NOTE: Neither Satin Chrome nor Satin Nickel will match your kitchen faucet exactly as it’s stainless steel.
Other options if you’d rather move away from what you currently have (click on any image to see it bigger):
Kwikset Polo comes in Satin Nickel (shown), Polished Brass and Venetian Bronze for $ 31.77 including tax.
Kwikset Balboa (Left) costs $45.10 incl tax. Tustin (Right) costs $87.43. Both come in Satin Nickel or Venetian Bronze.
Kwikset Arroyo comes in Satin Nickel (Shown) or Matte Black for $ 73.11 including tax.
Kwikset Pismo comes in Satin Nickel (shown) or Matte Black for $77.35
Please let us know if you want to stick with the Juno knob for your front door and Tylo for the back door or if you’d prefer one of the alternate knobs for either door. Please also let us know which finish you’d like for each door and whether you’d like a new door knocker or will keep your existing one.
The Emtek heavy duty ball bearing hinge is one of the strongest on the market and should do a good job supporting the weight of your back door. It is only available in stainless steel. We will plan to use this on your back door unless you feel it’s more important for the hinge to match your door knob and dead bolt finish.

Wired Doorbell Chime
Craftmade CL-W is rated to chime at 80 decibels instead of the traditional 60 - 65 db. Offers a 2 note chime for front door with optional 1 note chime for 2nd door. Requires 18 ga wire and a 16 volt transmitter. Costs $ 43.77 incl tax from Amazon. Also comes in off-white version.
GE wireless doorbell with 8 programmable chime tones and 4 volume settings - some sources say the loudest setting is 95 db and others say it’s 120 db. This system would replace your wired doorbell system and would allow us to purchase up to 4 chimes that could be placed in different locations around your house and can all be synced to the same doorbell button(s). Instead of a single super loud chime, you could have quieter chimes located near the front, in the kitchen and/or upstairs. Each chime has to be plugged in and must stay within 150 of the doorbell. The cost would be $23.85 for the first receiver plus $ 19.00 for each additional chime.
Let us know if you’d rather stick with a single, wired chime or are comfortable switching to a wireless system with multiple chimes. If switching to wireless, let us know how many chimes we should order. If you want to start with one on each floor, we can always add to the system later.
