CORNER BUILT-IN EXAMPLES

While none of these examples matches exactly what you’re looking for, .it would be helpful to know if you see any attributes such as the size of the face-frame, what the sides of the shelves look like, how the shelves meet at the corner, etc.

Bookcase #1: has face-frame, unadorned sides, unadorned elevated base and crown moulding along top.

Bookcase #2: has no face-frame, unadorned sides.


Bookcase #3: has no face frame, sides have shaker style moulding, elevated base matches existing baseboard moulding, crown moulding at top. Note spacing on bottom shelf is larger with narrower spacing between remaining shelves.

Bookcase #4: has continuous shelves, no face frame, sides have shaker style moulding, elevated base has no moulding, small crown at top.


Bookcase #5: has face frame at edges and corner but not on vertical divisions, sides have moulding along wall edge, elevated base has moulding, crown moulding along top.

Bookcase #6: has flush cabinets, no face frame, unadorned sides, unadorned elevated base, crown moulding along top.


Bookcase #7: has shelves that wrap the corner, extended cabinets, face frames on all verticals, unadorned sides, elevated base with moulding that complements but does not match existing, crown moulding at top.

Bookcase #8: has continuous shelves, extended cabinets including window seat, face frames on all verticals, unadorned sides, toe kick instead of elevated base, large crown moulding at top.


Corner treatment options:


Corner #1 : face frames of the two wall units abut at corner. Frames don’t have to be adorned - this is just what the best example I found looked like.

Corner #3: a separate corner bookshelf unit separates the two wall units

Corner #2: A gap is left between the 2 units and filled by a decorative panel, which can be any width you like and can be adorned or unadorned.

Corner #4: a small gap between the 2 units, filled by panel that matches the face-frame.

Lighting #1: recessed LEDs hidden in each shelf.

Lighting #2: recessed LEDs hidden in each shelf plus recessed LEDs in top shelf aiming towards ceiling.


Lighting #3: articulated spot lights mounted on top shelf.

Lighting #5: puck lights that can be mounted to create the effect of Lighting #1 and Lighting #2.

Lighting #6: bar light that can be mounted to create the effect of Lighting #1 and Lighting #2 on shelves that have face frames
